Meg came over tonight and we watched The Rundown, with the ROCK. More importantly, Christopher Walken was in it as the bad guy. The guy is amazing. Terrific. Super. Words do not describe. If you ever watch this movie, wait for a scene (early middle) when he makes the Tooth Fairy comparison, and watch the way he talks and his hand motions. He's so funny and awkward. It had us in stiches. We had to fast forward and rewind that scene several times. Also watch for the random and rather incomprehensible Scotsman. We died when he brought out the bagpipes. I know that stereotypes are awful but this one was too good to pass up. And the Rock, always the man. (Meg and I didn't mind goofy old Sean William Scott either). Overall: cheesy, but highly entertaining. I recommend.
To bed, to bed. Tomorrow I'm doing girly things with Stef (the scandal will be home!). I'm very excited this weekend, G. is coming home too. I don't know why I like to call him G. on here, I just like the way that initial sounds. Has a nice ring to it. G.

I'm not sure how I can keep up this not killing sentient life form thing. This morning I went to get in my car and it was COATED with these little white things that I thought must have fallen from the tree. Upon closer inspection, some of them were hopping, and I realized that they were little MAGGOTS. Nonplussed, I got in my car, but tons got crushed under my windshield wipers and more when I drove over my driveway, or got baked in the sun in the parking lot. Suffice to say, I probably killed a million bugs today. It's horrible, as these are equal life forms, but there was no way of preventing it.
Training for the records system, boring as it was, was ok and ended at 3 - so I was done work really early.
OK - teenagers are idiots. Some 18-year old girl, WITHOUT A LICENSE, rammed my grandmother's car (after running a red light) in an intersection and tore the engine clear off the car (totalled it). She didn't have insurance (no license)- and I really hope my grandmother, who has done nothing wrong, gets compensated. I also hope this arrogant brat gets jail time. My grandmother is allright - but it's terrible. Nobody messes with my GRANDMA.

Oh NOOOO!! I'm a horrible, immoral person! I've been tried and I failed.
I've been going hard on this idea of not KILLING anything - I even have been tiptoeing past earthworms not to harm them - but I saw this hairy centipede in the basement - and I just had to kill - I really can't stand them (most bugs I can abide) - and really it's only their physical form. I hereby resolve to get over my repulsion of centipedes.
THEN I killed a SPIDER!!!!
I just got out of the shower, and I was naked, and it was on my toothbrush. Normally I would trap it and put it outside, to help it find a mate more easily, but I squished it because it was on my toothbrush, a horrible reason to kill anything! :(
Boo to me.

A bit of politics...
The Gay Marriage thing is quite hot right now - normally I hate the idea of voting for a party because they're "more likely to win" - the idea of an election is to vote for the group who you like the best. But in this case, we have to make sure that basic human rights, such as a right to a marriage, are not violated.
I'm going to do it - vote LIBERAL - since (I'm sorry, Green guys) - the liberals will stand up to the uncompassionate pressure to not allow gay people the same freedoms that THEY are allowed, even if those people don't follow the same religion as them.
But first - make sure your local Liberal MP supports the cause on this website:
equal-marriage.ca
(some of them don't).

And time itself has seemingly come to a grinding HALT.
EVERYONE in my office has noticed it - we've all been here 40 days, and the clocks say that 4 hours have passed.
Someone in the outside world, hear our plea.

I'm at work, half an hour early. Reason: thunderstorm. I didn't feel like WALKING to the bus stop in the rain, without an umbrella (aka lightning rod), so my parents drove me, at the earlier time convenable to them. Suffice to say, I'm here, and wasting a bit of time until Sig gets here - we're working together on something at the moment.
I don't think people were meant to sit in front of a computer screen all the time - my eyes hurt. Already. They should make sunglasses for computer monitors. I'll be a millionaire with that idea!
I think I need coffee. Raises my perspecacity.

So we won our game tonight - and even though it was tight I think we played better than we usually do. Everyone seemed to have an opportunity to shine, and we were stubborn on the field, not allowing anyone to really hit the ball and get on base. Very, very good game. I bumped my toe again, and the nail has started oozing... I hope it's not infected.
Shan and I came up with this terrific idea but I can't remember it now.
Something to do with green cows.
Anyhoo, I'm going on TRAINING soon for RECORDS for work. Nobody wants to send me, as I already know how to do the thing I'm "learning", but the mean records people found out that I was using their system incognito and this is their way of torturing me.
"This.... is a monitor."
"ooooo.... aahhh"
Wednesday is my parents big 25-anniversary. What should I buy them?
Any suggestions? I'm going shopping tomorrow. (I know, last minute. I haven't exactly had any time recently, you know...)
Karen, I'm so glad you're adapting so well to life in Saskatchewan. You're so lucky to have those amazing friendly skills to help you make a profound connection with perfect strangers. Keep us posted!
ow my eyes. stupid monitor.
