Explore yourself - especially what you don't want to know

Hey,

You know all those quizzes to learn more about yourself?
I found this website, which will give you insight into your subconcious prejudices and associations. What you'll learn about yourself is not what you think about the world in your concious mind. Believe me, I was shocked by my results.

TESTS

So far, I've discerned that...

I have a strong prejudice against old people compared to young people.
I don't believe that arts vs. science is gender-based.
I have a strong prejudice against dark-skinned people compared to light skinned people. (yeah it's craziness)
I have a moderate preference for Judaism over other religions.

I passed 8th grade science

With a perfect score!
And PS - the test has an error in it - you mean NEUTRON, not NEURON!

You Passed 8th Grade Science

Congratulations, you got 8/8 correct!

Even so - I'm not good at blogging, obviously.

argh

Note to all:

Don't let me drink any more hot chocolate or mocha drinks, ok? I just finished a hot chocolate and I feel like I need to throw up. I don't think my stomach handles them well.

I will TRY to drink them, and I will make myself feel sick all over again.

Slow times...

Things have been slow with me recently.

whoa deja vu.

again

weird.

Anyway.

I've been working on a literature review of moth behaviour studies for my adult monitoring paper - it'll help me write a good introduction and discussion. I'm happy because I've gotten to the point where the papers are starting to repeat their findings, generally, which is a sign that I'm approaching the end.

Maybe?

Lab meeting was fun. It was followed by a TORTUROUS GSA meeting - they don't have MODERATORS - so everyone just argues in circles. I was literally hitting my forehead on my desk by the end!

I've been feeling extra sleepy yesterday. I think my body is adapted to "Exam study period" - during which I usually intersperse napping with reading so that my brain can sort out the info as I study it, to make it really stick. It works well for me, usually, but now I have this urge to nap every few hours during the day while I'm doing my literature review. I mean, it's only 9:30 and I'm already dying to get to bed - only Lost is going to be on soon. Bah for later TV times on the east coast!

I'm super stressed about my NSERC now. Not any of my fault, I fully qualify for the award, but now NSERC is wondering how much of an 'industry' my industry sponsor really is (although they're listed as an industry by them... wtf?) They're complaining about their lack of lab facilities - and we're trying to explain that the work is done in the field and then on the computer in the winter. Bah! I really hope it sorts out - it's a lot more money for me, and it's frustrating because I'm not the problem with it!

Ah well - I'm coming home to Ottawa on Dec 16th, which is soon. I'm certainly excited to see everyone! :)

Christmas!!!

You DO look forward to it so much more when you are living away from home and you're going to be seeing lots of people again! Plus - NOT having any pre-christmas exams makes it SO much better!

It just snowed, and I've already started my Christmas shopping (not last minute like previous years!)

I don't even feel stressed!

Christmas ROCKS!

Updating my To-do list.. (consistency is key)

Items 1 and 2 are done!
Working away at my adult behaviour paper.
Christmas shopping has begun and the plans are in place. Lots of Christmas cards are done too.
I know what I'm presenting now - just need an abstract.
and... stats can wait until break, although I've started my in-depth ANOVA review. The ANOVA section of the stats book I want is almost 300 pages. ANOVAs can be complicated!
