I had a hectic day. Why bother to participate - I have no idea.
I think that Staples should be sued for false advertising. Their new campaign - how EASY they make things, is utter bullcrap. Worst company ever.
Still - I managed to get my thesis all nice and printed, thanks to my sanity-inducer, Greg. Thanks Greg. I appreciate your calming words, ginger ale, and copious amounts of ink.
The weather was so warm out today. Sunny too. Too bad I'm going on day three of vision-induced migraine. Damn you, sunshine. Ahh clouds - my old friends. So much easier on the brain.
I watched Lost. Things are getting sort of weird on the show.Sort of... lost, actually. The plotline being lost. I think tonight's installment was downright depressing. Sometimes, with that television show, you want to jump on to the island and slap the idiotic characters.
This world is even stranger. It seems as though nobody even sees the strange things that are happening. Nobody is even noticing.
I want to recommend the following bit of reading: Fibre, by Rick Bass. You can read it online here. If you get a chance - it's quite incredible. The line between fiction and reality is totally blurred - and only one thing remains: the need to be an activist.
This is what we get to look forward to:

It's absolutely ridiculous. I plan to enjoy the wild places of this world, while they still exist.
It won't be long now before molded plastic Hello Kitty shit arrives in the deep rainforest tribes of Borneo. And it's just so sad.
In other news, I know that I haven't updated my dream blog, Experiment-Five, in a couple of months. I apologize. I haven't had great dreams recently. I haven't had a lot of great things to dream about.

Eyeballs popped out.
Imagine if, instead of these silly blogs, we had telegrams.
I shall demonstrate.
11 pm. stop.
survived seminar. stop.
wrote entire ecotoxicology paper. in one go. stop.
almost there. stop.
send for help. stop.
...yes?

Recently, I've decided to become a total bitch.
No reason why.
I just feel sort of mean.
Maybe because I'm offering to run lots of people over with a steamroller.
Maybe.
Also, I have an uncontrollable urge to read a trashy fantasy book.
This one will do:

Promises to be crack. Absolute book crack.
In related news, Ottawa social workers have declined their plan to give out crack pipes to addicts. It's a shame, because we discovered that the crack pipe kit comes with free lip balm. That alone is worth pretending to be a crack whore.
Apparently, possessing drug paraphenalia is illegal.
...whoops.

Free doughnuts! Seriously - free them.
I had a dandy weekend overall. The SSA Science Formal was at the Casino Hilton this year - and a fabulous locale it was!

However, most of us found that it just wasn't the same as last year. While most people got poisoned from the salmon steaks, we also were reminded how old we were by the hordes of utterly anonymous first year students. The DJ also should have been run over by a steam roller. This, I reminded people, could have easily been arranged.
Today, Megan and I went for a mid-morning coffee at Tim Hortons. It was nice to sit and chat, also to consume copious amounts of caffeine, even if it was only for about an hour. It's little things like this that I'll remember when I'm gone so far away. Also - I won a free doughnut with Roll up the Rim to Win. I've never won before. It was pretty darn exciting! Go me!
This week will be hectic for me. I won't get into details, but I have something major due every single day.
I best get to it!
