23 and lovin it...
It's been a good week. Wednesday, I found out that my NSERC scholarhip was approved - it finally went through - which significantly increases my pay. I was very proud of it as they're not easy to get, and it makes me happy that my school acheivements are recognized in that way. I mean, I had been given scholarships before, but usually at the institution level - and this means a bit more, I think.
Megan came down for a visit for a few days, and I think we had a good time, albeit a relaxing one. Saturday morning I had to present at a conference, so the night before (my birthday) we went out for a nice dinner. Thanks for the cards and packages from those that sent them (Vicki, Sig, Shannon and Greg!) I really appreciate it! :D
Saturday night was a bit of a wild one. Needless to say, I'm never drinking again. Until next week.
Oh god the stories... erg.
I'm making more of an effort to stop being fat. I've developed side and belly rolls and need to work that off - so a routine of cardio, weight lifting, ab workouts and stretching is in order. That, combined with my new mostly-veg diet - (please note not a diet in traditional weight loss terms, diet in the sense of a menu), should do the trick! My goal doesn't involve a specific weight, just I want to not have a slight roll above my pants on the sides.
Bah, I have an earache. I hope I'm not getting sick.
Off to do some reading before ball hockey tonight! Taa!
