So much to do...
Finally relaxed a bit last night. Went for "Chinese" food on the way home - except in Fredericton, Chinese food means American-style (only) - so fried rice and chicken wings and chow mein. Yeah, bummer. Still tasty, but bummer.
The girls found me (the town's not that big) and we went to my place to watch Bend it Like Beckham, drink a beer, and play some cards. All in all, a nice, quiet, early night, but still fun.
Today: cleaning blitz and I tried to run but the wind's way too strong. It's blowing over this HUGE and heavy wooden box for our garbage, like the size of a car. I can't come close to lifting it. It's gusting pretty strongly.
Must finish up my 2 different proposals for my advisory committee, as well as make those corrections to my GSA talk, soon.
I should make some coffee...
but Wednesday - MEGAN!!!! :D

Lust for Life!
Isn't it strange how when you have more to do, you slack off more in procrastination. I'm not afraid enough.
The last few days have been great overall. The first meeting of "Ento aid" as we're calling it temporarily was amazing - a good turnout, and we're planning our first fundraiser already! There were SO many interesting and good ideas in that first meeting, and I'm very pumped as to what we're capable of accomplishing. Our goal is 1000$ by next Christmas for mosquito nets in Africa and it looks like we have a solid plan with which to do it.
Friday was a bit of a slackage day for me. We had a lab clean-out all morning, since they'll be renovating our lab for the next two weeks - we're getting new countertops and they're painting the walls. We had to cram just about everything into our already small grad room, so it's somewhat closet-like at the moment. Then we went down to the poster sale and picked up a few nature-esque posters for the grad room to cheer ourselves up. Then it was off to a delicious lunch at the cellar with the whole lab, followed by a meeting of the Thrive Guide. Kate and I have a month to try out all the food and pub and nightclub venues in Fredericton and review them. Wooo it's my dream job, but I don't get paid for it. Still, it's an excuse to go out partying! :D Just when I thought I couldn't slack off ALL day, we went to the greenhouse to buy some houseplants for our grad room - haha.
That night, Nela came over and we did some cooking/baking for the FGSA dinner on Saturday. My brownies were a bit on the crappy, bready side though. I still want to eat them all.
We went to Shayi's for her birthday around 10 and met up with the law school gang for some jello shooters and girlie drinks (Pina Colada anyone?). Then we headed over to the Pheonix briefly before hitting the gay nightclub, Boom, at around 1 AM and danced until closing. I don't think we made convincing lesbians... but it's the most fun and least sleazy place to go dancing in Fredericton (the other option is the "Meat Market". Gross.)
Saturday we were a wee bit hungover, so went to Leah's for some good vegetation time. Sweet, delicious water and nap-worthy movie with vampires. The FGSA put on a Latin American dinner last night at the grad house. It was ok, except I was super tired, and a bit bored. My coconut rice got good reviews though!! :)
Anyway - today, making an effort to work. My proposal needs finishing, and I need to get this seminar ready for Wednesday's lab meeting.
Busy but content girl, in her comfy PJs : over and out.
