CAFFEINE, WORK!
Sleepy kind of day. I think it's the rain. Went round to the lab to do some work and hopefully see some folks, but people took the day off (with our lab, sometimes we work on holidays...)
Managed to finally figure out how to get my GPS units onto the Google Earth map so I can get a nice picture of the area, which was key. Google uses longitude/latitude and not GPS, which stinks. Ah well.
Pretty dull day otherwise. Don't feel like doing too much.
Can't seem to wake up either.

Fitness challenge!
Hey there,
I bought a Glamour magazine (yeah I like to read magazines once in a while haha) and they're doing a 3-month get in shape thing. It's already into the second month, but you can start up from the beginning of the program. It's an online thing where you keep up with fitness challenges and do the eating things too (they aren't that complicated). You can steer it towards your personal goals (ie. I want to tone up as a priority). It may be difficult for me to keep up once I get to Caledonia as I may not have internet for a while, but we'll see.
Life is good, albeit quiet. Nobody's around Fredericton this weekend so I'm going it alone. Yesterday did a mini-makeover: hair dye at home (just to brighten), face mask, etc etc. Followed that up with cranberry vodka martinis and SATC - very classy way to spend my Saturday evening!
Caledonia looks promising. I met the two girls who will be living with me - I'm moving up the street - and they both seem pretty nice. I'm lacking a bed at the moment, and the prospect of sleeping on an airmattress for 3 months seems uh - dire. Hope I can pressure Parks Canada to buy two more beds for the house!!! Or - at least, dredge them up from somewhere.
Last week we got a ton of work done. Set up 19 sticky tape sites - these tell us relative larval densities as soon as the hatch occurs. We had 9 sites last year, and even that was supposedly a lot. I rule! It should allow me to choose higher-density sites this year for study - a lot on the land they may spray too.
Only got 2 black fly bites the whole week, which is impressive given the clouds of them. I think I've learned some key prevention skills. Tuck everything in and dress in layers. All the gaps, use DEET. Works, I swear!
