Back down to it...
Living in Fredericton, back to work. I guess that's just how it goes!
It's been good since I got back. I've kept busy, working in the lab, analyzing some data, making graphs, and even writing some papers! I feel that, since I'm pretty much done fieldwork, with one exception, I am now on the path to finishing. It's scary, in a way, because the only thing standing between me and my thesis is a load of work, and my will to do that work. Argh.
I'm loving being back in my apartment. It's so lovely and comfortable - I even enjoy cleaning it and enjoying its cleanliness (after our summer's house, which was disgustingly dirty all the time).

I went to the Market on Saturday and bought a number of terrific treats - a whole loaf of fresh whole grain bread, greenhouse honey, dill havarti from the local cheesemaker, and some houseplants. They're nice - I'm going to go buy two more small houseplants next Saturday I think. Green up my apartment before winter makes everything so dreary.
I'm signing up for kung fu soon too. That should be great - I'm hoping to stay in good shape! I've been very lazy the last few days though, so we'll see. I'm thinking about doing the Terry Fox run - it's 10K and I'm not in that kind of shape but I can do a combined run/walk. We'll see.

I've been reading a lot recently - The Ancestor's Tale by Dawkins. It follows evolution back through human's eyes to the original ancestor of all life, and I enjoy it. It's strange when I read to realize that I already KNOW a lot of the information he's putting out there, but it's nice to put it all together in a neat little package again. It's a good review of evolutionary theory, albeit a very human-centered one!

Recently, I've been drooling over this tome: "Insects: Their Natural History and Diversity". Dr. Marshall's been working on photography for this book for a long time, and we have a copy in the lab - it's excellent! Maybe for Christmas...
