Slight Tan!
Wow - what a difference the weather can make!
Tuesday was a fabulous day, although it was a bit exhausting. Heidi, Leah and I packed up the car and visited two classrooms: kindergardens and grade 2s, and brough along neat insects for them to see. We mostly played games with the kindergardens, who were absolutely wild. The grade 2s were much better, and impressed me with how much they were able to learn. They actually knew that insects had a head, thorax and abdomen. They also were really excited about the two games we played with them: a trivia/pictionary/charades game and a "who am I?" game. It was great to see such young kids so excited about entomology! I was exhausted by the end of the day though - I don't think I'd have the energy to be a teacher or camp counsellor, but my hat goes off to them!
Had an amazing week - not because anything really strange happened, but it was just good. The weather was so warm and sunny and I definitely took advantage of it to be outdoors. Almost every day this week, our whole lab headed to the Grad house porch around 1 to cook our lunch on the BBQ and sit outside chatting. We also spent a number of hours outside reading, where I managed to get a tan. I also went running almost every day - and went to play frisbee with the girls on Thursday on the cathedral lawn. I love this weather! I'm sad that it's going to get a bit colder (damn seasonal temperatures) but now that I'm into this active, healthy vibe, I can't get enough! I have so much energy!!
Last night I went to see Failure to Launch with the girls, followed by drinks and finger food at The Back Nine. The movie wasn't stupendous, but Matthew McConaughey is hot and SJP absolutely rocks! :D The Back Nine was fun - I'd definitely like to return to check out more of their extensive drink menu. The Tipsy Monkey has my name written all over it.

Hermithood.
Greg arrived for a visit last weekend and it was an amazing time. Friday night was girls night with Greg (poor lad) at the gay bar, followed by a great party Saturday night at Leah's. Lots of drunkenness and fun. Greg = awesome. :)
On Monday I started being sick. Greg was great and took care of me. Then he had to return to Toronto, which sucked.
Wednesday I had to suck up having the flu and I went to Shubenacadie with my two supervisors.
I had to suck up feeling sick and I gave a presentation about my research to the entomologists in the area, which was neat. Made some good contacts for next summer!
Spent the rest of the week being sick, and doing a bit of work. This weekend I've been a hermit, since I'm still sick. Damn flu.
